Claireville Conservation Area: A Quick Escape to Nature in Brampton, Ontario

Whenever we don’t feel like driving far or just have half a day on the weekend, we head to Claireville Conservation Area. It’s right near Brampton and a great spot to connect with nature without leaving the city.

What’s New at Claireville Conservation Area?

If you haven’t been recently, Claireville Conservation Area is undergoing some exciting upgrades! The trail system is expanding, and there’s a new parking lot located on Queen Street (South) and Steeles Street, making it easy to park, and the best part—it’s free!

Trails for Everyone

Whether you’re after a short, relaxing walk or a more challenging hike, Claireville Conservation Area has trails for everyone. We usually opt for a quick stroll to clear our minds, but there are longer trails if you’re looking for a bit of a challenge. On the AllTrails app, you can find 6 trails ranging from 3km to 10km—perfect for all levels!

Below is my AllTrails record this mid December. And just a heads up: don’t forget to stop your app before you jump in the car to head home!

Dog-Friendly and Family-Friendly

Another reason we love Claireville: it’s dog-friendly! It’s a great place to bring your furry friend along for a walk. And it’s also a perfect spot for families—there are easy trails that everyone can enjoy, even little ones. Plus, in the summer, kids can have fun at the pony ride area! It’s a lovely way to spend the day outdoors.

A Filming Spot Too!

Claireville Conservation Area is large and quiet and we saw several times that movie crews here to film. You might just bump into a film set while you’re there, adding a bit of extra excitement to your visit.

Two Easy Entrances

There are two entrances to Claireville Conservation Area, making it even more accessible. Whether you’re coming from Queen Street or Steeles Street, it’s easy to find your way in, and both with free parking!
