Le Massif is an incredible ski resort, known for its amazing panoramic views and stunning terrain overlooking the St. Lawrence River. We’ve gone downhill skiing there a couple of times, and honestly, every time we skied down, we couldn’t help but be blown away by the breathtaking scenery. Chic Chocs – Quebec’s Ski Touring Mecca

The Chic Chocs, located on the Gaspé Peninsula, are legendary for their deep powder and rugged terrain. With an average annual snowfall of 7 meters, it’s a favorite among AT enthusiasts.

  1. Ski Chic-Chac (Murdochville):
    • Ski Mount Miller’s 32 trails via chairlift.
    • Snowcat or heli-ski Mount York (15 glade trails) or Porphyre Mountain (12 trails with 2 powder zones).
    • Ski Lyall Mountain with or without a guide.
    • Affordable pricing and free access for local kids make it a lively destination.

Provincial Parks for Skimo

Jacques-Cartier National Park offers two options:

  • Belleau Sector: A 1-square-kilometer area near the Discovery Center with 300 meters of elevation gain.

  • Matteucie Sector: A more secluded area 7 km from the Discovery Center, featuring white birch forests and 300 meters of elevation gain. Suitable for experienced skiers.
